The One That Started It All

What originated as a cosy restaurant in 1990 has since gained a firm following over three decades. And all it took was one mother’s wish to share comforting food borne out of love. Like the lemongrass we’re named after, Serai Thai has flourished, growing from our humble beginnings to six Serai branches (and counting) throughout Malaysia.

We’re proud to see this original family favourite become a beloved institution in Shah Alam, garnering raves for our homely, hearty and heartwarming Northern Malaysian cuisine with bold Thai inflections. Whether it’s our spicy seafood dishes or our savoury greens, our focus remains on using quality produce to create the flavourful combinations you’ve grown to love.
